House Bill 123 has been introduced in the Georgia House by Chairman Bill Werkheiser. This bill would create a pretrial hearing process for determining intellectual disability, and would lower the standard of proof from “beyond a reasonable doubt” to “preponderance of the evidence.”

These changes in Georgia law are essential to protecting the lives of vulnerable individuals. Please join us for an advocacy day at the Georgia State Capitol on Wednesday, February 12. If you cannot join us in person, please call your state legislators! Talking points for calls will be available soon.
