The Catechism teaches us that “the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person.” Mobilizing to repeal the death penalty in our state, where we see it disproportionately affecting the already poor and marginalized, is urgently needed to protect human life and dignity. As members of the Catholic faithful in Georgia, we must work together to ensure that the laws in our state respect all life at every stage.
